Due to program of ‘Go Green with Astra’, seven subsidiary company of PT Astra International Tbk, joined in the Division of Financial Services, had deliver symbolically trees contribution to educational institution of elementary, middle and upper school, and University, and also to freeway administrator and the local government. The event was held on Saturday of March 29th, 2008, at the head office of Astra Credit Companies in Jl. TB Simatupang of South Jakarta. This Astra Financial Services Go Green Joint Program even was the manifestation of Astra devotion to the preservation of the nature and its ecosystem.

The tree hands over was been made by the director of each company in the division, which were consisted of PT. Federal International Finance, PT Asuransi Astra Buana, Astra Credit Companies, PT Bank Permata Tbk, PT Toyota Astra Finance, PT Surya Artha Nusantara Finance and PT Komatsu Astra Finance. The program was conducted as continuation of the implementation of reboisation program submitted by Astra International President Director, Michael D. Ruslim, during the company 51st anniversary ceremony. At the event, Director of Astra International, Gunawan Geniusahardja, has said that Astra and its affiliate was very concern with the conception of good and healthy environment. “Reboisation, to protect and preserve the environment ecosystem was of our own responsibility”, Gunawan explained.

On this ‘Go Green with Astra’ program, each Astra employees will contribute one tree. In overall, 5.660 trees were donated by Astra Financial Services division for the reboisation in DKI Jakarta. Astra International Group alone has donated as much as 116.867 trees from its entire employees that were spread throughout the nation.
